Hawaii is the perfect getaway all year round, so why not start your year on the islands? When it comes to ringing in the New Year, no place is as beautiful as Hawaii. From cruises to incredible restaurants, find the New Year’s Eve activity that’s right for your vacation. If you’re looking for some fireworks, warm scenery, beautiful beaches, and active volcanoes, start your 2019 in Hawaii!
Here are just a few of things happening on New Year’s Eve:
The Drums of the Pacific offers special holiday luaus to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. For NYE, the Drums of the Pacific offers two shows: 5 to 8 PM and 9 PM to Midnight. Both luaus feature all-you-can-eat-buffets with prime rib and Hawaiian favorites as well as authentic songs and dances from throughout Polynesia. The second show also features party hats, noisemakers, and sparkling wine.
This is a dance party on the seas! Hop aboard a cruise and get the perfect view of fireworks along the along the West Maui coastline. Multiple cruises are available with departures in Lahaina and Maʻalaea.
Waikiki’s annual fireworks show is the most popular NYE event in Hawaii. Starting at 11:55 PM on December 31, the show stretches for blocks along Waikiki Beach in Oahu with concerts, DJs, and street fairs staged throughout the area.
If you’re on Kauai, bring your lawn chairs and blankets to Poipu Beach Park. Activities include live entertainment, a FREE family friendly movie under the stars, keiki activities, food trucks, and fireworks show.
If you’re not able to travel, most hotels, restaurants, and resorts offer New Year’s Eve parties and firework shows throughout Hawaii. Remember that some resort NYE parties can be very pricey though. Popular resorts with New Year’s celebrations include The Ritz-Carlton, Aulani Disney Resort and Spa, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Whichever hotel or restaurant package you choose, you’ll want to be on the beach for midnight fireworks!
