You'll surely know it as a household juice product — but do you know its history? For an unusual sightseeing experience you'll definitely want to write home about, no trip to Oahu is complete without a trip to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. The Dole Plantation is one of most popular attractions in Oahu!
Hawaii's economy is largely based on agricultural exports: coffee, sugar cane... and, of course, pineapple. What originally began as a fruit stand in 1950, the “Pineapple Experience” today attracts more than a million visitors a year, and includes fun activities for visitors of any age, including a Pineapple Express Train Tour, Plantation Garden Tour, Pineapple Garden Maze, and a depth of information on the island’s fascinating pineapple farming history. The Dole Plantation Maze is shaped like a gigantic pineapple and covers more than three acres. There’s also an onsite country store where you can enjoy a delicious glass of Dole pineapple juice and the world-famous "Dole Whip!" The Dole Whip is a frozen, soft serve, that can only be found at Dole Plantation and at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
The plantation is open daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and is located along the Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawa, Hawaii. You can check out the website for more information, including events, and to help plan your trip. If you’d like to leave the planning to us, IMI Tours can handle your transportation to and from the Dole Pineapple Plantation, leaving you to focus on enjoying your day out in the sun and amongst the pineapples!
