You’ll surely know it as a household juice product — but do you know its history? For an unusual sightseeing experience you’ll definitely want to write home about, no trip to Oahu is complete without a trip to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. The Dole Plantation is one of most popular attractions in Oahu!

Hawaii’s economy is largely based on agricultural exports: coffee, sugar cane… and, of course, pineapple. What originally began as a fruit stand in 1950, the “Pineapple Experience” today attracts more than a million visitors a year, and includes fun activities for visitors of any age, including a Pineapple Express Train Tour, Plantation Garden Tour, Pineapple Garden Maze, and a depth of information on the island’s fascinating pineapple farming history. The Dole Plantation Maze is shaped like a gigantic pineapple and covers more than three acres. There’s also an onsite country store where you can enjoy a delicious glass of Dole pineapple juice and the world-famous “Dole Whip!” The Dole Whip is a frozen, soft serve, that can only be found at Dole Plantation and at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
