Boat tours have resumed to the USS Arizona Memorial visitor center. The memorial was originally closed since May 10 due to a faulty anchoring system on the concrete loading dock, which posed a safety concern for visitors. The USS Arizona Memorial was originally set to reopen October 1, but a second floating dock where visitors depart became partially submerged requiring further delays. Repairs have been made to the second dock and boat tours have resumed.

However, boat tours have continued to USS Arizona since May, but without docking at the memorial.

Recent repairs to the loading dock were completed thanks to the support of the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard divers, Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 1, Port Operations and Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawaii.

All other amenities at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center remained open and unaffected by the issues with the USS Arizona Memorial.

The USS Arizona Memorial remains one of Pearl Harbor’s biggest attractions; find out more about the USS Arizona Memorial and related Pearl Harbor tours at IMI Tours.
